Resolve a host string to its corresponding network addresses.

Synopsis

    DNSLookupFn dns_lookup_function = g_dns_lookup);

Return Value

The resulting network addresses to which the specified host string resolved.

Parameters

Name

Description

name

The string representing a host. Could be a name or a numerical IP address (IPv6 addresses in their bracketed form are allowed).

nMaxSolutions

The maximum number of addresses to return; 0 means no limit.

fAllowLookup

Whether DNS lookups are permitted.

dns_lookup_function

The resolver used to perform the lookup.
